Remington MB320C Barba Beard Trimmer Review
In many ways this Remington MB320c Barba could be argued to be Britain’s favourite beard trimmer (and certainly most popular), getting more searches and enquiries than any other on the market. Plus, with it being a Remington who have over 75 years in the personal electronic care industry, it has got to be a pretty darn good beard trimmer right?
You get the instruction manual on how everything works with trimmer, a cleaning brush and the Mb320c trimmer itself. Pretty simple.

Design & Ergonomics
As soon as you get hold of the MB320c, you can tell it is (quite surprisingly at first) a thing of quality. It has that extra “weightiness” feel to it in comparison to cheap flimsy trimmers with “grip material and design” that doesn’t feel like it wants to easily flake away or peel off. You can see from the images above, that it looks the part too.
It boasts a slight-curved and sleek ergonomic design that fits rather nicely into the palm of your hand -- which obviously comes in rather handy when it comes to maneuvering your way in and around your facial hair.
You will be able to see that the MB320c also has a little thumb locking dial, at the centre. This is so you can quickly interchange between beard comb lengths (more on this later), so you aren’t having to fiddle around with an array of attachments for different lengths (ranging from 1.5mm to 18mm in 9 different platforms) like you do with other trimmers. Select the length you are after and it will “lock in” so it won’t slip into a different one mid way through trimming.
For me, this is the aspect what impressed me most.
The cutting performance is actually very good for a mid priced trimmer and it is quite rare that I had to go over the same patch of hair twice, to make sure everything was cut (obviously depending on the depth and toughness of your facial hair, this could be somewhat different) . You see, it features “advanced ceramic blades” which essentially means that they act to self-sharpen when they are trimming your beard and cut a variation of beard hair length with ease.
It also comes with a nice little “pop-up trimmer” on the reverse side, quite useful for the detailing work that comes into play with your facial hair such as the mustache or sideburns. All you’ve got to do is push the back the beard comb guide to come off the top and you’re away to styling your beard however you wish.
The Barba beard trimmer comes with an integrated rechargeable battery, which is definitely a plus -- as the last thing you want to be doing really is swapping and interchanging batteries as it runs out of power. Plus, it actually offers a relatively decent return from a 16 hour charge, you get what it states to be 40 minutes of continuous trimming, but I’d urge on the side (certainly in my case and others of testing) to be slightly longer (on first proper charge, it seemed to last for ages). It also has a handy LED indicator to let you know what’s going on with the battery, whether it is full, in need of a charge or charging.
Even in the case, you did happen to forget to charge the trimmer for whatever reason, you can always just plug in and trim (so you can charge corded and cordless). Do pay attention to some of the suggested tips for maintaining battery life by Remington though (e.g. give it a full charge before use, let the power drain out completely occasionally).
Like all beard trimmers, to keep the cutting performance high it will need the odd clean here and there (and Remington provide a nice little cleaning brush for just that). In all though, after my 4 years of use with this trimmer, I have done very, very little in this regard and it still works like a charm.
Overall MB320c Review & Verdict
In all, this MB320c Barba really is a cracking beard trimmer. A real delight to work with.
Pretty much perfect for whether you want to have or maintain that 5 o’clock shadow look (with 3 days growth) or you want to spruce up a short to medium sized beard (which is what I’ve used it with, since playing testing it). You have a good range of trimmer length settings -- where “1” is 1.5 mm (which they describe as the stubble or cropped look), “2” is 2.5 mm, “3” is 4 mm (a short beard), “4” is 5.5 mm, “5” is 7 mm (medium), “6” is 9 mm, “7” is 11 mm, “8” is 14 mm and “9” is 18 mm (and long), so plenty of room to play with regards to designs.
With regards to reliability, this is the only trimmer that has lasted me a good four years and is still going strong. So essentially, if you are just after a simple yet quality trimmer, then you don’t have to look further than the MB320c.
